I recently retired from forty years of teaching Black film, Film Editing, and Special Effects at a 4-year liberal arts college. I continue to pursue my interest in film on a blog, emiliavopines.com, devoted to the visual analysis of films by new Black filmmakers. My aim is to provide new filmmakers with the type of academic analysis that is usually reserved for more established directors. I am also interested in 3d digital reconstructions of African-American sites of historical importance.
