The strength of the Black TV & Film Collective is best highlighted by our membership – an artistic and professional community of individuals with the shared goal of telling great stories.
We are a growing collective of screenwriters, producers, directors, cinematographers, editors, actors, animators and all around creative storytellers. Many of our collective members move their projects forward through the support of fellow members and the leadership team.

Filmmaker ready to Direct my next short film or an episode of a webseries. Currently a DGA Assistant Director working in film and television in both comedies and drama. Joined the collective to create directing opportunities and work with Black people.
I’ve directed in the past but it’s been about a three years since my last project. I’ve grown as a director and writer. Looking forward to collaborating and making some amazing projects.
Ekwa has directed several short films. She’s written for both television and film, and produced several shorts.
Her films have been official selections at several world festivals. She is now Adjunct Faculty at Tisch School of the Arts where she teaches Production and Cultural Studies classes, as well as being a resident instructor with the African Film Festival, Inc. where she has done numerous after school youth video-making classes as part of a collaboration with the New York Department of Education.
One of Ekwa’s key goals as an artist is to transform our society’s images and relationships with African cultures, and to empower African filmmakers in telling their stories.
I'm an NYC filmmaker creating films focusing on the inspirational/faith-based genre. I have written, produced and directed 20 short films. Many of them have gained lots of views online, with the highest viewed short film called Found Dead, hitting over 10.6 million views on Facebook. (I'm still blown away by this) I enjoy and focus on creating films that inspire, educate, encourage and motivate the viewers to have Hope.
