IMDB https://www.imdb.me/mlavoraperry I've worn a lot of career hats (and, lately, a lot of wigs), including Writer and Web Designer. I tucked my Actor hat way for over 20 years. It feels great to be wearing it again. After a year of focusing on commercial work, I'm now adding legit productions to my bookings. Back to my hats: The Mom one? I've got three great young adult children to wear it for -- two daughters and a son. And I love it best of all.

I recently retired from forty years of teaching Black film, Film Editing, and Special Effects at a 4-year liberal arts college. I continue to pursue my interest in film on a blog, emiliavopines.com, devoted to the visual analysis of films by new Black filmmakers. My aim is to provide new filmmakers with the type of academic analysis that is usually reserved for more established directors. I am also interested in 3d digital reconstructions of African-American sites of historical importance.
