Huriyyah is an award-winning writer, director and producer whose projects have been invited to the Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Institute, AFI, Austin Film Festival, New Voices in Black Cinema, American Black Film Festival and many others. She is a current participant in the prestigious AFI Directing Women’s Workshop, a recipient of the 2021 SFFILM Rainin Grant for Screenwriting, and The Black List Feature Residency for her feature directorial debut screenplay, God Help the Gayes (They’re Getting Divorced). In 2020, Huriyyah also won the Sundance Producer’s Award for Farewell Amor, which premiered in U.S. Dramatic Competition.
